We serve wind and solar proponents across Western Australia. Our team understands approval pathways, survey windows, and delivery risks from site selection to commissioning.
We serve wind and solar proponents across Western Australia. Our team understands approval pathways, survey windows, and delivery risks from site selection to commissioning.
Renewable projects face complex triggers that can include clearing permits, noise and visual considerations, heritage interfaces, and sensitive species or habitats. Timelines are tight and grid dates are fixed, which increases the impact of uncertainty and rework. We map the assessment and approvals pathway, scope the level of study, and coordinate the field program to meet seasons and milestones. Our regulator ready submissions cut iterations, control cost, and keep procurement and construction on track.
We deliver approvals and referrals, impact assessment for wind and solar, and ecological survey for renewables with targeted methods for threatened fauna and flora. During delivery we provide fauna pre clearance, construction environmental management, and environmental compliance for renewable projects with daily records and photo evidence. We prepare revegetation plans, environmental offsets WA strategies, and monitoring programs supported by GIS mapping and practical reporting templates. Every document is written so supervisors and auditors can use it in the field.
We know that trust is earned, not given. The best way to understand our commitment to quality is to hear directly from the people we have helped. Here’s what they have to say about working with us.
SW Environmental are a go-to team for environmental and ecological works – always a professional, reliable and pleasure to work with.
The team at SW Environmental has consistently provided expert guidance and reliable support for our environmental approvals making the process smooth and stress-free.
SW Environmental assisted us over the years with land developments. The team are very knowledgeable, approachable, and outcome-driven as well as being well priced. They deliver quality services and we look forward to working with them in the future.
We have worked with Shane and his team at SW Environmental on projects big and small for well over a decade. They have always provided professional advice and service on even the most sensitive and difficult of sites and situations. I couldn't recommend them more highly.
Shane and the SW Environmental team have a solid understanding of ecology in the South West Region and provide invaluable services on Black Cockatoo and Western Ringtail Possum, from baseline surveys to environmental impact assessment to fauna pre-clearance and relocation.
Our team has supported renewable corridors, wind farm components, and utility scale solar facilities across the South West. Examples include route studies, EPBC referrals, clearing permits, seasonal ecology programs, and on site compliance during construction. Results include fewer requests for information, faster approvals, and documents that stand up at audit and in day to day operations.
Our specialists bring the insight, clarity, and reliability needed to deliver efficient, compliant, and stress-free project outcomes.
Senior consultants lead each project from start to finish. Each project is carefully overseen by a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) accredited with EIANZ.
We offer the expertise of a major firm, but with lower costs, and a level of personal engagement big corporates simply can’t match.
Local recognised expertise with over 100 years’ experience in the region within their respective fields.
Southwest WA is a biodiversity hotspot which creates unique challenges for projects. We are recognised regional experts surveying and managing black
cockatoos and Western Ringtail
Possums.
We are centrally located in the
southwest region and can mobilise teams quickly at a lower cost. Our authorised fauna spotting team have a specific license for urgent works no hold ups.
Our competitive pricing reflects our experience not quality. You get big-firm confidence without the big-firm price tag.
Senior consultants stay hands on from scoping to close out, not just at the proposal stage. Our local knowledge and lean overheads deliver clear, defensible outputs without delay or excess cost. We integrate with developers, EPC contractors, and owners engineers, and we keep communication open with agencies so decisions are timely and evidence based.
Call us for free preliminary advice on your likely approval pathways, timelines and costs.
Share your site, layout, and program and we will provide a prompt risk view, a recommended pathway, and a detailed scope and quote. We then schedule surveys or submissions against grid and construction dates, and keep you updated through approvals and pre start. The outcome is a clean compliance record and a project that moves as planned.
Allow two to eight weeks for typical approvals once inputs are ready, with longer durations if seasonal surveys or public comment are required. We sequence studies and drafting so the environmental review lands before procurement and early works.
Most wind and solar sites need flora and fauna surveys, habitat mapping, and targeted work for species of concern. We match methods to risk so results are defensible and useful for design and approvals.
We align study timing with program milestones and present concise, regulator ready evidence. Early scoping reduces rework and keeps environmental compliance for renewable projects aligned with procurement and construction.
Yes. We design offset pathways with clear actions, monitoring, and reporting to satisfy conditions. This integrates with rehabilitation to avoid duplication and to simplify field delivery.
We brief crews, deliver fauna pre clearance where required, and implement erosion and sediment controls with daily logs and photos. Records are consistent and audit ready so supervisors can make safe, compliant decisions.
Provide site mapping, a description of works, any previous studies, and your program dates. We close data gaps quickly and issue a proposal with inclusions, milestones, and timeframes so work can begin.
We believe in a straightforward approach to every project. No jargon, no fluff, just practical, expert solutions designed to get you from point A to point B as efficiently as possible.

Main Roads (South West Region) has engaged Shane Priddle of SW environmental on several occasions over the past four years to undertake environmental assessments and fauna surveys as well as arrange for additional surveys by other consultants to supplement the assessment reports.
We have found that Shane communicates well, making appropriate inquiries to clarify issues, is helpfully suggestive and is responsive to feedback. He has shown that he is able to manage multiple projects to meet completion deadlines with quality reports for complex projects.
Shane has been engaged by NGH Environmental for a number of projects which I have managed. Shane has completed GIS mapping work and environmental impact assessment tasks. Shane has been an asset to the team due to his expertise in mapping combined with his impact assessment knowledge. I have found Shane’s work to be of a high quality and he has always been able to meet project deadlines. A couple of projects which Shane was involved in were complex, particularly the mapping due to numerous design changes and Shane’s background in ecology was invaluable. I would have no hesitation in recommending Shane to other clients.
Our group has found SW Environmental to be very professional. Shane has been very helpful in assisting us, and we have found his reports to be to be very thorough, delivered in a timely manner, and very good value for money. I am happy to recommend him for such projects.
On a project of this scale land access is one of the major hurdles for completing in a timely manner. Shane Priddle was in constant contact with Western Powers field officers discussing land access and the field officers were able to help sufficiently. What ensued was the timely delivery of a flora and fauna survey over a 300km long alignment.
The reports for the survey were of a high quality, specifically the maps that were produced were great and the GIS data was provided to Western Power is exactly what we were after.”
We were very pleased with the friendly, professional, honesty and cost effective services and will certainly engage SW Environmental for future services.
