Renewable projects face complex triggers that can include clearing permits, noise and visual considerations, heritage interfaces, and sensitive species or habitats. Timelines are tight and grid dates are fixed, which increases the impact of uncertainty and rework. We map the assessment and approvals pathway, scope the level of study, and coordinate the field program to meet seasons and milestones. Our regulator ready submissions cut iterations, control cost, and keep procurement and construction on track. We also have close working relationships with larger environmental consulting teams that can assist if required.
We support renewable energy proponents through approvals, referrals, impact assessment, and ecological surveys, including targeted methods for threatened flora and fauna. During construction, we provide fauna pre-clearance surveys, construction environmental management support, and on-ground compliance services.
Our team also prepares revegetation plans, environmental offset strategies, and monitoring programs. All documentation is prepared for direct use by supervisors and auditors in the field.
Customer service and quality assurance is underpinned by our ISO9001 compliant integrated management system.

We have worked with Shane and his team at SW Environmental on projects big and small for well over a decade. They have always provided professional advice and service on even the most sensitive and difficult of sites and situations. I couldn't recommend them more highly.
Shane and the SW Environmental team have a solid understanding of ecology in the South West Region and provide invaluable services on Black Cockatoo and Western Ringtail Possum, from baseline surveys to environmental impact assessment to fauna pre-clearance and relocation.
Our team has supported renewable corridors, wind farm components, and utility scale solar facilities throughout Western Australia and New South Wales. Examples include site selection and risk assessments, route option studies, EPBC referrals, clearing permits, baseline ecological surveys and management plans. Results include fewer requests for information, faster approvals, and documents that stand up at audit and in day-to-day operations.
Our specialists bring the insight, clarity, and reliability needed to deliver efficient, compliant, and stress-free project outcomes.
Senior consultants lead each project from start to finish. Each project is carefully overseen by a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CenvP) accredited with EIANZ.
We offer the expertise of a major firm, but with lower costs, and a level of personal engagement big corporates can’t match.
Locally recognised expertise with over 100 years of combined experience in the region and over 1000 projects delivered.

Senior consultants stay hands on from scoping to close out. Our strong local knowledge, combined with regional presence and efficient delivery, allows us to produce clear, defensible documentation aligned with regulatory expectations without unnecessary delay or cost. We integrate with developers, construction contractors, owners’ and engineers, and we keep communication open with agencies, so decisions are timely and evidence based.
Call us for free preliminary advice on your likely approval pathways, timelines and costs.
To get started, share your site details, layout, and program. We will provide an initial risk review, outline a recommended approvals pathway, and issue a detailed scope and fee proposal. We then schedule surveys and submissions to align with grid connection and construction milestones, and keep you informed through approvals and pre-start requirements.
This approach supports compliant delivery and helps projects progress in line with planned programs.
Most renewable project sites require general flora and fauna surveys, habitat mapping, and targeted surveys for species of concern (commonly black cockatoos, other birds and bats). We match methods to risk so results are defensible and useful for design and approvals.
We align study timing with program milestones and present concise, regulator ready evidence. Early scoping reduces rework and keeps environmental compliance for renewable projects aligned with procurement and construction.
Yes. We design offset pathways with clear actions, monitoring, and reporting to satisfy conditions. This integrates with rehabilitation to avoid duplication and to simplify field delivery.
We brief site teams, undertake fauna pre-clearance where required, daily inspections, logs, and photographic records. Documentation is consistent and audit-ready, allowing supervisors to make informed, compliant decisions on site.
Provide site mapping, a description of works, any previous studies, and your program dates. We close data gaps quickly and issue a proposal with inclusions, milestones, and timeframes so work can begin.

Main Roads (South West Region) has engaged Shane Priddle of SW environmental on several occasions over the past four years to undertake environmental assessments and fauna surveys as well as arrange for additional surveys by other consultants to supplement the assessment reports.
We have found that Shane communicates well, making appropriate inquiries to clarify issues, is helpfully suggestive and is responsive to feedback. He has shown that he is able to manage multiple projects to meet completion deadlines with quality reports for complex projects.
Shane has been engaged by NGH Environmental for a number of projects which I have managed. Shane has completed GIS mapping work and environmental impact assessment tasks. Shane has been an asset to the team due to his expertise in mapping combined with his impact assessment knowledge. I have found Shane’s work to be of a high quality and he has always been able to meet project deadlines. A couple of projects which Shane was involved in were complex, particularly the mapping due to numerous design changes and Shane’s background in ecology was invaluable. I would have no hesitation in recommending Shane to other clients.
Our group has found SW Environmental to be very professional. Shane has been very helpful in assisting us, and we have found his reports to be to be very thorough, delivered in a timely manner, and very good value for money. I am happy to recommend him for such projects.
On a project of this scale land access is one of the major hurdles for completing in a timely manner. Shane Priddle was in constant contact with Western Powers field officers discussing land access and the field officers were able to help sufficiently. What ensued was the timely delivery of a flora and fauna survey over a 300km long alignment.
The reports for the survey were of a high quality, specifically the maps that were produced were great and the GIS data was provided to Western Power is exactly what we were after.”
We were very pleased with the friendly, professional, honesty and cost effective services and will certainly engage SW Environmental for future services.
